Light in Motion presents a body of work by Rob Hamner exploring intentional camera movement, a technique that trades sharpness for sensation. Rather than freezing a moment, Hamner moves with it, letting landscapes, coastlines and everyday scenes dissolve into streaks of color, light and rhythm.

The results sit somewhere between photography and painting. Familiar places become unrecognizable. A hillside becomes a wash of green. A shoreline becomes a pulse. The work asks a simple question: what does a place feel like when you stop trying to hold it still?

Shot across the Bay Area, the Point Reyes coastline and locations abroad, these images reflect an interest in surrendering control to the camera, embracing what happens when precision gives way to intuition.
