SLAP IT UP began with an empty room.
Each participating photographer arrived with one unframed print and chose where it would live. There was no predetermined layout, no ranking, and no single person deciding what belonged where. Each placement changed the room for the photographer who came next.
The exhibition developed through attention, instinct, conversation, and response. Some participants had shown work many times; for others, this was one of their first exhibitions. Those distinctions did not determine where the work was placed.

Please note: Participation was determined by a random draw rather than a jury. Frame 1A founders Westeigh and Jeff Heyman participated in the exhibition but were not included in the draw.
