About

Views of Paris brings together photographs by Harry Zimmerman and Thomas Brichta, two photographers looking at the same city through distinctly different sensibilities.

Rather than attempting to describe Paris as a whole, the exhibition is built from individual observations: architecture, streets, people, light, gesture, and the small visual relationships that emerge while moving through a place.

Seen together, the photographs reveal how differently a city can be constructed through attention. The same streets can become formal, intimate, fleeting, or unfamiliar depending on where a photographer stands and what they choose to notice.

The exhibition is less a portrait of Paris than a conversation between two ways of seeing it.

About the Artists

Harry Zimmerman is a photographer and film professional whose career spans still photography, cinematography, camera work, and producing. His photographic practice includes travel, concert, food, and documentary work, while his film background has shaped a strong sensitivity to light, framing, and visual narrative. Zimmerman studied at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and has worked across film and television production as well as independent photographic projects.

Thomas Brichta is a Northern California fine-art landscape photographer and longtime photography educator. He spent more than thirty years as a Leica Camera representative and has taught photography through workshops and individual instruction. His work is grounded in travel, landscape, and close observation, with an emphasis on light, place, and the visual character of the environments he encounters.
