Solo Exhibition
maiden, mother, crone
Reese Cowan
September 19 – October 24, 2026
About
maiden, mother, crone, presents new work by San Francisco–based photographer Reese Cowan.
Cowan’s practice explores identity, childhood, feminism, and community through photographs that move between the personal and the symbolic. In this exhibition, she turns toward the shifting roles, expectations, and ways of seeing that accumulate across different stages of a woman’s life.
Rather than treating maiden, mother, and crone as fixed identities, the exhibition considers them as overlapping positions: ways of being seen, remembered, imagined, and transformed over time.
